Load testing, assessment and inspection are fundamental to ensure that their performance meet the requirements of the ‘Code of Practice for Safety at Sports Grounds’. A minimum of 25% is required to be load tested annually based on a prior inspection. It is recommended in the code of practice that selecting the barriers for load test each year should be based on a risk assessment of the barriers with the sports ground.
Testing is performed by personnel with experience in this field and can be carried out for the sporting club directly or through their professional Health & Safety consultant. On completion of testing, certification and recommendations are provided.
